If you look at the pictures carfuly you will see the animals still have to be clearly seen to be Identified. How many of you thought the first picture was of Pigs and not Cattle until you read the caption.
The 2 guys I know who bought Thermal for hunting got rid of it pretty quick and replaced it with Night Vision Goggles.
Just my 2 cents worth but I am pretty experianced with this sort of equipment.

Pretty big pigs at that range?! - that wasn't on zoom either (up to 4x)

I wouldn't be even thinking of shooting at night at that range - its up to the user to interpret and ID what they are viewing - same as the day really

Thermal in the country and sea is very very good at showing you things you would't "See" with either eyes, binos or NVG - day or night
