    Fly tarp recommendations

Have a wapiti block this year and we are after a fly! Their seems to be a lot to choose from. So I'm after some wisdom from you lot. Silnylon, polyester, etc etc what materials or what Flys would you recommend?
Will only use now and then so don't need a heavy solid thing to last year round but don't want so lightweight it rips in some nice fiordland weather haha

    Cheers

Have used one of the Stoney creek ones for 5 or so years without any issues. Not the lightest but well made.

You can use a Macpac Olympus tent just as an outer too so very versatile in that respect.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.

I’ve got a NZ made huntech rectangle fly $100 if your looking for something near to bombroof.
I’ve used it in fiordland but now have a siltarp3 that I’m taking this year.

I've got a Siltarp 2 and 3. Rate them both highly, albeit maybe a bit lightweight for what you want?

As above a NZ made Huntech is bombproof in Fiordland as we tested one out first hand.

We’ve taken siltarp due to weight savings and they’ve been great.

Out of the two choices… siltarp 👍
