    Garmin 66i

    Hi All

I have thinking about getting a Garmin 66i GPS. This would be an upgrade from a Garmin 64s. The main reason i'm looking to upgrade is for the inreach capabilities. Does anyone have any experience using these, or even better have one for sale?

    Welcome to the forum.

I use a 66i and find it pretty good for staying in touch with my wife. I send a message when I reach camp so she knows I'm good and my location. Had a small emergency at home once and she just messaged get home now so I packed up quick smart and home 6 hours later. Would of been 3 days if didn't have that capability.

Now that Vodafone and starlink have paired up and will soon have txt capability in where in NZ It will make inreach obsolete so maybe hold off and wait for that.

    Thank you for the welcome

Yes my partner goes out more frequently than me and we were looking for something that could help us keep in touch as well. Due to the nature of the places he goes when I don't join it would be great if we could keep in touch.

Will definitely make the switch to Vodafone when they launch though!

    Thanks again for your help

It should do. But still no indication on pricing yet?

Hi @southerngirl27 . Why don't you head over to the introductions page and introduce yourself? That's a great place to start here.

Identify your target beyond all doubt because you never miss (right?) and I'll be missed.
