Garmin alpha battery

Got an alpha 100 18months ago.... Or thereabouts receipt is yet to be looked for. Plugged it in to charge the other day and realised no harder so ordered a car charger, plugged it in today and had issues.

Screen came up with not a genuine Garmin battery (never seen before) next screenplays without a battery it can't transit. Left plugged into cig plug it would work ok but once unplugged it would die

Ordered a new battery but not impressed that it died, anyone else had issues?

Much preferred my old one that ran on aa and you could swap them out!!

had mine for about 4 years now still on the first battery .......do you update the software?maybe a glitch in the system rather than the battery?
the other thing ive done with lithium batterys for other devices is put em in the fridge for a bit then try charge....(havent done this for the alpha tho)
