    I also have one..... HOW THE HELL DO YOU USE IT!!!?????
    all i need it to do is to mark a track so i can find my way back out. Can anyone explain it to me in a round about way?? Cheers

    Turn it on.....when it has got signal find mark or waypoint and put one at your position,name it truck,camp or whatever is applicable.
    at any major deviation from course or feature you pass put another in.

    heading back search nearest waypoint and go to or navigate to.....it will give you a bearing. Use your handheld magnetic compass to follow bearing to way point checking occasionally as you drift off course picking the natural easiest path and so on.

    At a second glance i've seen mine is the Etrex 10. Somewhat different. I was actually given it new by a friend and have been told by a couple of mates they're not very good. When i saw this thread it gave me a glimmer of hope ha ha

    That is the later model capable of maps so even better than the H.

    Not very good may translate as "doesnt take photos" or "battery lasts ages"

    I had a play with it today. Seems to do everything i need it to do. I found the user manual online as the starter manual is exactly that... it shows you how to start it and thats about it. Cheers lads.
