I read a good review on facebook from a nz hunting site but buggered if i can find it now! The only flaw i think from memory was the standard glass scratches easily so he recommend that you purchase the sapphire glass instead. Ive been considering getting one since they came out but havent bit the bullet yet.

For what its worth, I have a Sunnto Ambit 3. I'm on my third one as they keep failing after 1-2 years. I'll be going for a Garmin Fenix 5 (or later) next.

I've got the Fenix 5, didn't think I'd use the 5X mapping as I've already got a GPS & also maps on my phone, I'm not sure how well it would go in thick bush? The 5 has some basic navigation functions.
Shut up, get out & start pushing!

The 5x is good, same gps sensor as most other units and has glonass. No issues in thick scrub

I just bought a epix off forum member and used it earlier this week for nav on the hill and worked really well, I'm not sure what my maps are, I just pulled the chip out of my handheld, loaded the map file onto basemap then dropped it into the watch and works great picks up signal quick as and seemed to work well when we were in the bush lower down

Also it was at 100% battery when we left and after three days in the hill including using GPS every few hours and playing around with it while I should have been sleeping it was at 78% when we got back out

Pretty happy with my Suunto Traverse Alpha but wouldn't mind a bit more battery life... I feel 10-12 days isn't enough.
