They're made from the same data as the official LINZ Topo50 maps, so all the info is identical to what you would get on a paper map (which you should be taking with you as well).

I downloaded the linz set for Oruxmaps for the phone, thing.

Topo Maps For Garmin GPS
I use these guys for updating the car gps.
They're up-to-date.... like weekly at times so if you want to find the latest subdivision, use them.
Only you guys will know re the topo's but I would bet they'll be in the same situation.
Lots of good info here about, gps-ish stuff too. :)
however, I'm guessing I bypassed the LINZ stuff as this was easier to utilise for me.

They are a couple of years old now, so no guarantees about their accuracy. Check specific areas of interest against the latest boundaries on the DOC website - some hunting areas may have been added/removed.
