Garmin Rhino 650 GPS.... But wait, there's More!!!

    G'Day Fella's,

Got away for an overnighter this weekend, looking for something to shoot!
A mate of mine Dave and his 10yo son Andrew came along with me.

Dave had recently purchased a couple of Garmin, Rhino 650 GPS thingo's and gave me one to help keep us in touch with each other, as we bush hunted this property.
Well, I have to say I'm not that much of a techno type person but WOW, what an eye opener these things are!
Not only are they a GPS, but you can see where your mate is on the color liquid crystal screen and can even talk to each other, with the built in UHF radio!!!

I'm not the best person to do a write up on these Garmin products but if you are looking at getting some thing with all the Bell's and Whistles, one of these may be what you are looking for;.

    Hope that helps

    Doh!

    G'Day Fella's,

As to price, Dave picked the above 2 x units, in a 2 for 1 special at $600.00.
I'm not sure if that is Oz or US $ ?

    Doh!

there has been a few spots in aus having the two for one...but most have run out. Google it as someone may still be doing it? Mate got some and it worked out at $800 with the freight and gst etc from memory. They wouldn't send them seperatly to avoid the GST

I have one and they are great units stand alone...mates use my std radio to keep in touch (The ones that dont have the rhino)

Watch out you don't import a rhino that's not in sinc with nz . The med, ministry economic development are all over the garmin tracking collars . Lady I spoke to in charge of enforcement of gps frequencies tells me some rhinos are on the banned list. Trust me ! , you don't want to go down that path,. Pays to check with them first .
