When the 650s were on sale a few years ago four of us bought one each. It is great when hunting the same catchment to be able to watch on a map where the boys are. For this reason alone they are a very good safety tool. This means if plans change, you don't end up with the situation where two people are hunting the same ridge. Shoot a large animal and want a hand to carry it back to the hut? easy one call and your mate heads straight for you (after much bribery or threats).
Radio is handy and for us works well but not as good as seeing your mates on the map. As said they are not a PLB still carry one.
