    Gas and electric benchtop stoves

I was wondering if anyone had recomendations for gas burner and electric benchtop stoves? I'm looking for something to shoot cooking YT videos. I like the Warehouse cast iron gas burner and maybe the electric double rings from K Mart, or the Warehouse one. Here are the links. The cast iron gas one looks nice and rustic for filming. But other options would be welcome. I am trying to keep the cost as low as practical. I will be doing outdoor cooking vids over fire too. Thanks!

    +1 for gas.

Found this one that may save you a few bucks

One thing to watch out for is the cast iron burners rust badly & quickly if you leave them out in the rain.

@No good names left Thanks for that. The outside cooking will be done over an open fire

    Electric for low and slow.

    Gas for everything else.
Also get some jet cleaners, to ream the jets out a bit, so you get the flame to really get hot.

Our gas hob, was just ok, but after a ream, now can cook with a wok just about like a asian restaurant.

Just be aware some of those burners (the big ol gas one especially) need to be on a heatproof surface - as my mate found out the hard way.

A lot of cooking creators have gone away from gas because of the noise interfering with the sound of the video if indoors. Have you looked at a small induction cook top? Obviously you can’t wok cook on them properly but if you’re doing that you’re better off with a high pressure burner outside. Just a thought.

A piece of fiber cement sheet, problem solved for this. A little bit of an air gap underneath and no drama.
