Gear List - gone a bit deeper than usual

    Hey team,

Mucked around with some formulas in Google Sheets (with ChatGPT assistance) and put a gear list together. I've found it pretty useful for working out how much everything weighs and where I can reduce weight for walk-in trips. I'll add the link below. Click on it, download it or make a copy, then edit to suit your needs. Hopefully some of you find it useful too.

The way I've structured it, you put in the number of days you're hunting, check the quantities (can over-ride the formulas if you want), then tick whatever you want and the weights will automatically calculate. Obviously you need to weigh your own gear.

Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.

    Cheers,
    Elliott

I've got a thing for spreadsheets. Plus had some time on my hands when the kids were sick and the weather was terrible!

I downloaded the sheet - Under column F 'Packed' if the excel is in my browser if I tick and untick theres no check mark in the box, it changes to words True or False.
When I download it that column say 'True' 'False' and cant add a check mark?
Im in Excel Mac Osx - can I only do those edits on Google drive? Thx

Yeah I originally tried in excel but they didn't have the coding to get check boxes (only true and false) so unfortunately you can only run this as it is in Google Sheets, sorry. I couldn't work out a way to make it cross compatible but some smart cookie might be able to work it out!

Nice idea, I've downloaded it for using as a gear check list only. Thanks for that.

    Nicely done Edunn.
Great way to consolidate all of my future plannings into a medium that I can quickly check and reference when packing.

Yeah probably has a bit more than the essentials in there. Includes roll of strapping tape, small pair of scissors, painkillers, etc.

I’ve had a play around with the excel file and have added checkboxes that now show a tick.
It’s been a long time but I want to code each item to show the weight sun totals and totals when you tick an item that’s going on a trip.
I’d also like to have separate sheets for 1 day 1-3 day etc and seasonal as well.
Then for eg if you go in winter for 3 days with X rifle you have a separate sheet and just pack that gear.
Anyway it’s a great OP so thx again.
