Gloves - gorse - give me the lowdown

So I've got to the age in life where I'm now paying for earlier years.
Broken hand from martial arts, and a recent set of severed tendons from a grinder accident has left me with the need to keep my hands warm.
I have issues with them locking up and pain in the cold.

One of my main spots has a good hour walk through a very overgrown path with loads of gorse.
I'm currently using the likes of those Ninja safety gloves to keep me warm, but not get slashed up by the gorse. However they don't breath.

Anyone able to recommend decent gloves?

What sort of hunting are you doing? I would be avoiding gorse at all costs....or open the track up problem solved

Don't worry - will slowly work on opening it up.... but my hands are at the stage that I can only really do about 20mins on the machete before I get them locking. That kind of ruins a hunt.

DOC land over your way, and I can't really bypass the gorse easily.
Though, after last 7 trips and nothing dropped might need to review where I'm hunting.

Maybe just get that track open for me then...lol

Gorse...controlled burn off.

Leather riggers gloves are quite warm and very durable and should be impervious to gorse, not much dexterity though. I find the Ninja type gloves with a rubber/plastic palm and fingers and a cotton backing are probably just as good with way more dexterity and more comfortable to wear if they get wet. Go in and have a look at the range in any safety shop

the short bahco loppers are great or a ginzu pull saw on a short pole way less energy wasted than using a zombie knife

You could try something like what we wear Off Road Motorbike riding in Asia look at BILT AirCon Gloves or any summer Motorcycle gloves or something like what they use on the mines in hot regions & some how boxes of them appear on our expeditions HexArmor Oasis series ,you will be able to buy them online.

I have used leather gauntlet welding gloves to handle gorse and the prickly shit still gets through them. :XD:

CHeers - will look into these...

welding gloves and long loppers.....if you use machete,do one side of track in each direction ..chainsaw is far better,again do one side one way,and other side coming back....gorse is a bastard of a plant...friggin Pomgolians shouldve built post n wire fences like normal folks......
heavy slasher is better than machete....
to keep hands warm,the cheap polypro gloves work well.....polarfleece is ok,and cut slit across base of trigger finger,only takes a second to pull glove out and poke finger through....I hunted with long sleeved fingerless gloves for years...find someone who knitaholic and they will whip up set in no time,easy for them to just keep knitting sleeve bit longer.
