    good single-18650 battery torch

Gday team any recommendations for a good single-18650 battery torch? Im not real keen on paying Led lenser prices as I really believe a lot of the cheaper stuff is just as good with the Panasonic batterys. Want something to chuck in the pack that has a bit more throw than the headlamp. cheers

Convoy C8 with an XM-L chip is my favourite single-18650 torch. Just make sure you get one with a smooth reflector. Should be around $15-20 USD. Plenty of light to 100m.

No, they're a fixed beam, but in my opinion about the perfect balance of area illumination while still giving enough throw.

I've picked up a few other single-18650s that many people recommend, particularly the 501b (Simply not enough light at distance) and A60 (beam way too tight, not enough spill), but the C8 is just right for me.

    +1

If you want a little more throw and a better colour tint a quick de-dome works.
There are only three types of people in this world. Those that can count, and those that can't!

There are lots of cheaper torches that use the triple cluster of AAAs. Can I simply drop in an 18650 to improve performance?
