    Gps app

Ok so I've been thinking about installing a gps app on my phone... anyone using them? Any better than others? What works best and will it replace my 64st?

    Android or Apple?
Some good, some are a waste of time.
Better off with your Garmin mate.

Give back country navigator a go. I use it and like it as a backup to Garmin etrex. Now supports aerial satellite view maps which can be useful.

I use Orux as a back up to my garmin. It has the ability to use garmin maps which is a bonus.

I use "New Zealand Maps" on my S6 in a lifeproof case. Worked just as well GPS reception wise (I've never not had reception, does take a bit longer for a lock in tight shit) as my Garmin Rino but the screen is a million times better plus the flexibility of 12 different maps; google, bing, topography blab blah you name it it has it. Battery life is great also, plus it weighs half of the Rino and I get a phone through work for free.

Cap that off with a mint camera built in, a means of emergency contact and it runs your ballistics app... Pretty win/win/win/win
