Does anyone know about the Grisport aoraki apx boot available from hunting and fishing? They have them for $349, they look like a decent pair of light weight stalking boots? Any info either good or bad would be much appreciated

I've got a pair, got them to replace some Stoney Creek boots that were faulty. Only had them a couple of months but so far I'm happy with them.
Importer is a knob end but boots ok.
I've got Kaikora boots which are similar but heavier.
They are lighter than my old boys Asolo normal height ones even though a lot taller.
I deff rate the higher boots.
Would have to be something special before I replaced them at this stage.
Very comfortable boots.
i've got the hikers and i love them
Try farmlands if you have one handy, they are cheaper and stock gri sports. My hikers are the shit :D
Farmlands are cheaper?
I need some after lookin at my feet this morning.

Would you guys recommend hiker or hunter?
I suppose I need to just try on aye...

Never tried hunter, the hikers are a lower cut.
Got the Aorakis today. Higher, sturdy and yet suitable for stalking. Very good boot, to my liking at least...

Bought the GriSport Hunter Pro for $299.
All is well except I'm getting a blister on my right heel....
Nice shoes tho....had them for few weeks now, I think they come with a 1 year warranty... which you shouldn't need to use anyways...
Got the Aorakis. Probably the most comfortable boot I've used. Very soft soled. Good for bush hunting but I don't think they'll last too long. Would buy another pair for sure.
Got the Hunter pros great and comfortable in the bush and on trail.

See any reason for the blisters? My current boots which I've had for some time do the same thing if I don't put a plaster over each heel before hunting.
They are Vasque Wasatch, looked ok when I purchased them but Ive noted a pressure spot caused by a join in the outer leather,
Thinking of renewing them even though they are still in good condition. looking at Gri sport or the stoney creek range, had enough of very sore heels while hunting.
I have the hiker and I was pretty happy with them but I tried on the Kaweka and it made the hiker feel like a sneaker so I bought a pair, they are awesome!
Ended up with some Stoney Creek Graywacke boots, light comfortable out of the box, no nasty join in the heel area. As long as they hold together they should be good for my bush stalking
If you like a high boot I am finding these very nice... they run the same sizing as Red Setter.

Very supportive (which I need after a motorcycle accident a couple years ago crushed my left foot) and they have good traction too.
cheers

I have a pair of Kaikouras that BRADS kindly gave me at the end of last year. They had had little use when I got them and now they falling apart. To be fair, I have given them a thrashing, had nearly 30 days on the hill since then, but I don't think I'll be buying a pair of Grisports when I run these into the ground. The sewing is coming out (I sent them to the boot repairs but he sent them back saying his sewing kit could work with the thick leather, will try another place) and on this last hunt of the lace eyelets came out. Not a bad boot I guess it just depends on how much you get out and thus how long you expect them to last, after all, no boot lasts forever.
@TJM Not sure how I missed this and never replied to your question. Its been 2.5 years since but here is my reply
The blisters only happened when I wore very thin socks and only when the boots were rather new. After few months the boots were very comfortable on the feet, I still wear the same pair and they only have lost the waterproofing.
I find myself looking for a new boot at the moment and might go for the Aorakis.
Got / had a pair. Comfy. But too soft for carrying a heavy pack. Not enough support. For me anyway.
