Thread: Gun city opening in Palmerston North

Hey ,
Anyone got their ear to the ground about the rumblings of Gun City comming to Palmerston North.
There is positions advertised for it and a location of Rangitiki street when searched.
They want to be in by christmas apparently.
Any truth to this gossip ?

Hopefully it drags down the prices of ammo ect, with actual competition for hunting and fishing !

The 2xGCs and 4xH&F here in Auckland sell ammo within like $2 of each other. It’s the smaller independent gun stores that actually sell ammo cheaper by quite often 10%

More selection and more competition is never a bad thing

It is a very bad thing for the small sole-trader gun shops.

The equivalent of the Warehouse coming to your small town and destroying all the small shops

Damn them with their wider range and often better service.
I don't get the Gun City hate. I've had nothing but good experiences there.

I'm suprised there's nit one in Taupo tbh.
I get excellent service at my local and Chch when dealing with them.

I was on the phone today with Hamilton branch reckons next 10 days for the palmy shop.

Palmy has three times the population than Taupo...and Palmy's average age would be 20-30 years younger, so far more potential customers.

Funny though , apart from the add on the guncity page , I have heard no advertising about them comming to palmy.
You would think they would have advertisement saying "comming soon " and all that rubbish.
Quite excited about them comming to palmy though. Will make it so much easier to buy from a big retailer and not have to buy from guy city wellington or the others.

Lucky Simon, after so many lonely years on his own now he has a "friend" in town.

Probably due to the Dunedin one about to close. They have no customers, due to absurdly high prices and the dumbest customer service of any gunshop I have ever been in. And I have been in a lot. I overheard two unemployed staff once talking about how they had spent the whole eight hour shift the day before on their phones. Meanwhile Hunting and Fishing across the street had sixty people in it.

Don't get too excited about Gun City coming to town. You're not going to get much out of it. You're a customer, one of those people they look down on and enjoy ripping off. Remember when David Tipple came on the old forum in person and defended has used gun prices by saying, some idiot will buy them.
