Morning team,
Anyone replaced a Halogen bulb in a spotlight with an LED?
My light force scope mounted one has died. Keen to change the bulb to LED, anyone have any suggestions?
Cheers

at one point you could by replacement units for maglites...so there must be units to replace bulbs somewhere... tried my old 30watt spotty the other night and it looked positively sick next to a LED ... even the sidebysides head lights left it looking sad.
75/15/10 black powder matters
Light force spotlights used a standard 2 pin bulb however the is a difference in the filaments compared to one the same shape in the shops you can purchase.
I believe the the common shop bulbs are a vertical filament (running the length of the blub) and light force use a horizontal filament.
This is all for the shape and light spread of the beam.
I am sure you could find an LED replacement but will not have quite the same beam pattern coming off the reflector.
I suggest that you retire the light force and as others have said and proven get and nice new LED mounted torch for the rifle...
If you are nostalgic and want to keep the spotlight going, let me know.. I may have a couple of bulbs you could have that will fit the light force... just let me know what model you have and also what wattage you currently using.... I have a bunch lying around somewhere.
You can get COB LED replacement bulbs, but the issue with them as stated is the halogen bulb tech is possibly not suited to the LED and can produce a light pattern with a dark patch in the middle.
Its probably cheap enough to get a bulb and try it, Jaycar are one source otherwise Aliexpress is another option.
take a pic of what you want, post pic
