If you have to carry pliers around with you, then it's not a lightweight option, assuming you don't carry pliers normally when hunting, I don't!

Well if you want to sell a few to me I'll get some for sure. Carry some tools in the gear back when I'm duck shooting but not so much in the hills

Multi tool on belt, it's amazing how much use the pliers get

Yeah pliers are best. Not recommended but I often take them off by hand. Putting them back on I’ll get it in position then push the blade on by pressing the tip into something rather than doing that bit by hand

Yep, carry a folding scalpel and a few spare blades and a Gerber multi tool in a little belt pouch along with hunting permit and a few extra rounds and a tiny knife steel. It's not very heavy at all and very useful. Amazing how much the little Gerber saw gets used too

They sell a little plastic thing that clips over the blade so you can twist and push/pull them on and off with bloody or cold fingers.

Nb and not slice up you fingers which did give me the shits if my fingers were wet of bloody.

Not very helpful to the OP, but I'm still using an Outdoor Edge knife. I think it is a better system. I can change the blades by hand with a reasonable amount of care.
