    Hilleberg vs Exped tents

    Hey guys,

I'm liking the look of the layout of the Hilleberg Anjan 2 GT and the Exped Cetus 2 UL. I've historically been against 2 person tents that only have 1 door, 1 vestibule. However I've been rethinking that as each vestibule is a bit tight for cooking/catching etc. Looking for a 2 person tent for tops trips & fiordland.

Does anyone have either of the above? Or experience with other similar tents, ie other exped UL tents.

There might be a near new hubbahubba nx with footprint up for sale soon if anyone is interested.

I have a Exped Orion and love it. It is utterly bomb proof and I have seen that for myself. While in Molesworth a few years back I saw the real need for a good tent. High wind, snow, rain, surface flooding etc. Yet the exped pulled through. I remember the floor being rated at 10,000mm while most of the MSR stuff only at 3,000mm. I know the design is different, but would highly rate all 3 exped products I own. Cannot comment on the Hilleberg sorry.

Look at Terra Nova also, similar build quality to Hilleberg but usually a few less dollars. I have a little Terra Nova solar competition, bit different to what you're looking at but its a bullet proof little tent and weighs under 1kg ready to go.

I have one of a exped Gemini 2 , packs small enough (17x53cm, 2.4kg) and has 2 door and 2 vestibules
Hold up to winds on tops, expensive in NZ so ordered from here and yes I paid the gst too ...

Thanks for the replies fellas. Good to hear the Expeds are going well and I have the Tera Nova Jupiter bivvy bag which is solid & havent had any condensation in it.

I think I've decided that if I'm going to part with that many $$$, then I'll go down the cuben/dyneema route for the zero-stretch & the weight.
