You'll end up with 3 litres though, so maybe split it among a few mates.
I get ya. Might give it a go in the new year

    Cheers for the sample @Puffin.
My test pot has found good use, mainly for waterproofing leather shoes. Buffs up nicely and works as waterproofing.
I tested it for smell, not detectable.
Next step chewed through a small amount, maybe a very faint taste of beeswax but I'd not have noticed it if I had not read the ingredients. (-:

I'm out of Dubbin again. Anyone want to part-share in another 3 litre batch? Please message me if interested.

Ok, I've got a couple of folk who are interested and have messaged, so that would be is 1 litre each for the three of us, which to be honest is probably still more than anyone is going to need.
    Anyone else?
I'll leave it open for a couple more days then, so please get in touch.
The main challenge will be to get containers to pour it into while liquid (hot) for freighting. Last time I purchased in some 150ml screw-top tins for everyone. I can do something similar again just to divide the dubbin into easier to handle portions. Ideas here welcomed.
In the meantime I'll look at supply and pricing, given the original batch was brewed 4 years ago.

If lids aren't important, or you can source some plastic snap on ones the right size, try little tuna tins.

If a one litre Systema was used, or a couple of 500 margarine containers, then CourierPost is $10-12.
It's nice to have lids for keeping unwanted material from getting embedded in the surface.
Actually on reflection the container used for distribution does not have to be the final repository as it can be warmed and then decanted, it's just messy.

Perhaps empty baked bean cans (or similar) with these lids taped on would do the trick.

Glass screw top jars like the 'Pics peanut butter' ones would be fine if they are ok to post ?

I brewed up the batch last night. 2post has donated some plastic containers for getting the dubbin out to recipients.

This brew is slightly different from the earlier with the following blend ratios:

Almond Oil : Castor Oil : Beeswax : Coconut Butter
    1 : 1 : 1 : 1

While I liked the softer consistency of the original blend, I was finding that the treatment was wearing out of the boot leather from use a bit too quickly. Since it had been noticed that a couple of the more highly regarded shop brands were pretty much just beeswax, and where from the MSDS is appeared that solvents were blended in only to soften the wax to make it workable, the latest batch doubles the amount of beeswax. As a consequence it is a firmer blend, but hopefully doesn't need to be reapplied quite as regularly. The other difference is that the synthetic beeswax (not really beeswax at all – paraffin wax) was not available, so this has genuine beeswax substituted complete with an authentic smell and yellow colour.
