Most of my hunting gear is Swazi or Stoney creek ( clothing ) . Huntech though made excellent gear. Ive got and have used extensivly the gaiters , 2 man Bivy , Huntech fly , Pikau - The list goes on.

Dont know about their clothing but they did make practical functional gear for hunters. It would be a shame if they went the way of mass produced chinese rubbish that H&F puts out.

I still have a green swannie in the garage too. I got soaked in it once crossing the Kaweka J many moons ago. The windchill and near hypothermia coming over the top in that wet wool
was enough to turn me off for life. It just hangs in the garage these days.

...."Keep the swan dri".....was where the first swannis tech came from....I grew up in Waitara where they made them for us all............I Like many many more wore them for years and years............until companies like Huntec & swazi hit the market.

I recently just brought two of the black huntec fleece tops with the collar for $25 bucks from H&F & at this price what does it matter...... Ive long been a supporter of ridgeline as they have great gear for a good price ,,,,I like the idea of Swazi keep it & make it local ... but for my humble 5cents worth I don't see they have any advantage any more----aside from being overpriced & made by locals the gear just don't hit that technical advantage....$$vs Gear wise .... they would be hard pressed to beat my Stony creek Tarn jacket and my Hunters element XLT parker..don't get me wrong Im keen to support NZ made where I can ...... just looking for that ....extra advantage where ya can...every $$ counts

@scudd you'll just have to pop over and buy your gear here.... and do a spot of hunting whilst you're at it. Plenty of good buggers on here

There are more than enough crazy Irish men running around this country with loaded firearms without adding any more

Good judgement is the key to safe use of firearms.
