The price of boots is rediculous these days..imo.

i see some HE, Zulu boots on sale an seem to fit the bill for a day to day stalking but also packing boot......
i am wondering if anyone has worn these for any duration an what your opinion on them is, in regard to longevity? they holding together from a fair bit of wear? etc.

    appreciate the info

I have the Victor boots which is the same as the Zulu I believe.
They have been good to me, I use them for chasing pheasants as well as out in the bush.
They have a fairly stiff sole, which I like.

Scroll back or search back through forum, you will find very few positive things said about any of Thier gear at all. I wrecked a pair of Thier boots in very short time.

I have the Hunters Element Lima boots, they are pretty close to the worst boot I have ever worn.

I broke them in hunting goats and chasing pheasant, but after a few trips the lining around the heel was coming loose. I foolishly decided to walk into Thunderbolt Creek and these boots just about broke me over the 4 days I was in there.

I came out and went straight to town to buy other boots.

Your feet may be different, but I wouldn't even use hunters element boots to walk the dog.

I had a pair of Zulus, they were so uncomfortable they got relegated to my yard and tractor workboot and they still fell apart in 8 months.

I rate some of their gear. Halo jacket is one. But the boots..... twice now it's been a shit deal. I'm a slow learner, but not that slow.

I bought a pair of Zulus 2 years ago when they were on special for $200 but I havnt been overly impressed.

The sole wasn’t flat, it’s slightly curved so I don’t get a solid grip when walking.

I also find they don’t breathe aswell as they should so the boots end up wet from sweaty feet.

I ended up buying a pair of Lowa Rangers for NZ$320 imported here into NZ and they’re a great boot, PM me if you want more info on where I got them.

As for the Zulus I just use them as a general work boot cutting trees/wood

    Yeah thanks guys.

I also had Limas once.. for two weeks...

Thats a bit of a bugger as their newer stuff looks reasonable but a boot is somethong that gets alot of attention an wears the brunt of what we do.

    Il keep searching...

Im on my last set of Sarvos serbian imports but guna step up a bit more.

I won’t put on an open forum where I get gear from overseas as NZ distributors like to close down overseas sellers selling directly to kiwis and are therefore able to clip that ticket more.

Rees, I’ve replied to your PM

Out of interest, those people who had failures very quickly did you return the boot? The consumer guarantees act covers reasonable use and most manufacturers would be keen to replace the product to protect their name. If it was my company I'd want to know when my products failed so i could light a fire under my suppliers.
I return products regularly if they fail and hardly ever are left worse off

Identify your target beyond all doubt because you never miss (right?) and I'll be missed.

I tried on a set of HE boots in H&F a while back. I put them on started lacing them up and an eyelet tore out, never touched another set since.

as a general rule I never buy boots or packs from companies that don't specialize in that area, asking for problems lol
