Thread: Hunters Treverse jacket or Stoney Creek Frost Line Jacket

Is anyone using one of these interested in your thoughts.

I've got the Frost Line. Nice comfy jacket and plenty of pocket space but I wouldn't want to be in too much continual rain with it, as its a soft shell type. That aside I rate it highly for it's intended purpose, cold frosty mornings on the valley floor or on the quad.

Thanks I'm just after one for over base layer and under raincoat but that can handle pushing through wet bush without soaking up liters of water

They both seem pretty bulky. My SC gear that ive owned has all been better made than the HE gear.

Thanks for that I'm after a year round jacket that you put on in the morning then Chuck in your pack as you warm up
Kuiu would be great but out of my price bracket.

Yeah they are spendy. Mine was when they did the cheaper line. Same material as the guide but no hood.

I do like the soft shells but only use it on fly ins or road hunts

So tell me more are they quite heavy I see they are on special or is one of there others a better option.

Not to heavy but fairly bulky. Nice to have in the winter as they cut the wind like a rain coat but are quieter and breathe better. However kind of double up in my layering system so gets the chop if I'm carrying camp on my back

I have a bit of Kuiu gear now, and some I have had for a few years now and no complaints. I have only one pair of hunting pants, and they are the cheapest pair Kuiu do. So I have worn them on nearly every hunt over the past few years and they are still going strong! A tip is to shop in their outlet section and things are a lot cheaper.

I rate the firstliite gear from pointssouth, far prefer that over SC.

The firstlite gear looks pretty good but I don't like the colour. Too brown for me so I lean towards Kuiu when not buying NZ products.

I just got a pair of kuiu pants..... bro.... they are legit, so well made
