Thread: Hunting pants that wont absorb water

As title, after recommendations for decent pants
Something thats not noisy as and won’t absorb a litre or 2 of water and then take 2 days to dry.

-me and 3 mates went bush all in hunters element pants of various types - all of them had “DWR” and all of us had to wring out our pants out. It wasn’t raining that hard either - mostly picking up water from the grass.

Or do I need to stick to shorts?

Mantights ....love it

Yup shorts as ya legs won't hold too much water and will dry quick enough to use pretty much straight away....and yeah mantights when it gets cooler...light merino or the likes depending on how much bush bashing....i have some of the stoney creek ones i used last winter and were happy enough with them and a bit more forgiving that merino

The old Adidas trackpants were gold for this.. golf pants not bad but shorts n tights or shorts and chaps for this kiwi.its got to be very cold before polar fleece pants come out. Trick with them is wear OVER your gaiters,that way water goes down pants and off outside of boots not into boots.

Canterbury shorts in Red/Black are the only thing for wet vegetation. Don't get the blue ones they look terrible.

Definitely shorts over cheap as you can find polyprop tights when it’s cold. Otherwise shorts only. One pair for getting wet and one pair for sleeping in the winter. If you are walking it’s got to be bloody cold before you need anything else.

Couple years ago one morning trying to get dressed quietly in the dark with my cellphone light rolling round on the floor struggling and muttering to myself about the wife shrinking my merino leggings, gave up and flicked the light on and I was two thirds of the way into a pair of Victoria's secret yoga pants hahaha
