    Importing Knifes

Hi Team , Im after a OTF Knife , double action so first question is it even possible to import one ? I no customs have them listed as prohibited , if there is a chance to import one were is the import form located , about the only one I can find is a police general inquiry form , anyone else tried to get them or similar in ? , I have a perfectly good reason to own one , peeling potato's is not one of them basically need a knife that can be opened with ease single handily & preferably closed the same way .

Not a chance, customs will snatch it and you will get a please explain.
Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

there is a form that you can complete but I can tell you that single handed opening won't cut it.

The only success I know of is as a collector - any other reason is rejected.
Apart from the form, I would also suggest a fully motivated cover letter.

The form you require is POL67OW

Boaraxa...as oneshot stated.I sent a couple of these back to Kiwi several years ago(should have known better)they were confiscated.I did call customs directly, they had great pleasure in directing me to the appropriate sections of reading matter.......lesson learned,my bad..

There are other knives that can be opened and closed one handed, a Svord Peasant will work, as will sypderco and a good flipper too, zero tolerance is your best bet but strider, Emerson, hinderer and a few others make them...
Of course a Stanley knife with a retractable blade works too and is cheap as chips...

The kershaw has a lock on it, most knives can be opened one handed if they have a thumb stud and closed one handed with a little practice.

I used to use a Spyderco Manix 2 for sailing/racing. The one time I did need to use it when we dropped a rig it was pretty good, easy to open with one hand and if the pivot is just loose enough you can unlock and close it with one hand as well (the lock puts some resistance on the blade when its closed as well so it doesnt fall open). It has been retired to the dresser now and replaced with a much more extendible Bacho knife for that application

Based on what you say you need to cut, and as long as you don't need it to actually be pointy, you can't go past one of these for rescue-type cutting - S-CUT - The Emergency Cutting Tool for Rescue Services and you can get them from SwedMed Australia
