Himilayan imports are the kamis (blade makers) for the royal house and they make good stuff, that is actually made in Nepal (avoid cheap Indian rubbish) they use old Mercedes car springs or toyotas when they can't get the mercs, its 5150 steel, it has a differential temper with the back being soft and the edge being hard. Best model is the m43 I think, it's got the right angle for the swing and it's full tang, was not a problem to bring them in when I got one, only thing is the sheaths are poo, the blades are thick and heavy, if you screw up a swing then you can easily lose something you were attached to.
condor makes a fairly good imitation one, heavy duty kukri, that has a way better sheath and also has the cho you are after.
I did a chopping test a while back with one of these, my HI, a tomahawk and my Svord golok, golok out chopped everything and was still sharp afterwards, I like the look and romance of the khukuri but for performance I will take my golok.
