Nothing wrong with it. Very similar to D2 and 154cm in composition and performance, which are both good stainless steels. I’ve only had it in a 3” pocket knife, and I noticed that it did not chip like D2 does. It held an edge pretty well, and it is not difficult to sharpen. Mostly used in Asian knives, and is referred to as Asian 154cm. It should serve you well.
Cheers
Whats 12c27 like??
Nah, that's not quite right, D2 is completey different from ats-34, which is basically Japanese 154cm, D2 is a tool steel and will rust, but is not quite a full carbon steel, it's a strange beast but is very tough, Ats-34 and 154cm are both full stainless steels and should not rust at all, many custom nice users made use of both in the 90's.
12c27 is a Swedish stainless with fine carbides, meaning it's got good stainless properties, is tough, will get sharp but has lower wear resistance than the more coarse, carbide steels out there, so you will need to sharpen it more often...
