Knock offs I'd say, probably more like Bushbuck quality wise.

I have had or have most Kuiu items. Like Stagstalker says thier Attack pants are the most comfortable pants I’ve ever worn. I wear them every week and love them.
The next thing I’d get is thier mid layer Peleton 240 jacket. Lighter than the Guide jacket, which is pretty good too, I take the 240 on all my hunts.
The Storm Star is the bees knees of tents, a little heavier than some tents but bomb proof and has some pretty neat design features.
One thing that I thought was a bit unnecessary for NZ but love is thier puffer pants, full zips and synthetic fill. So good in the mornings and around camp. If you hunt in cooler climates they’re a really luxury.
Finally I love there gaiters, I can walk up creeks and keep my boots dry when my mates get wet. I have the Kutana gaiters. Whilst there’s a temptation to buy the heavier Yukon gaiters, I don’t like the under boot strap on them. I’m not sure how long the Kutana gaiters would last if you thrashed them, as they’re lightweight, but as I wear my attach pants all the time, I just wear the gaiters in water.
    Gloves are pretty good too…

As others say the attack pants have been awesome where I also bought a second pair for casual wear.

I found the lighter 120 merino too light where I’ve worn some holes in my one, I bought a 145 which is a bit thicker and more sturdier to my needs.

I had a guide jacket but found it to be more of a shell garment but it was good for being windproof and light rain but I switched to a strong fleece 260 which does all of the above but also keeps me warm. I’m about to order the next model up being the 275 strong fleece cause it’s a jacket and not a pullover like the 260 I have.

Craigc, interesting comments re your gaiters, I have a pair of Yukon’s which I found to be a huge step up from the stony creek and huntecs I used to wear, certainly stronger, lighter, more waterproof and just bomb proof and like you I wasn’t too keen on the under boot strap but found it didn’t cause me any issues and that strap material is amazingly tough with no signs of wear.

I wouldn’t mind buying a pair of puffer pants but for the time being the price tag puts me off.

I have their carbon frame pack system and it's an epic piece of kit. Gotten realy pricey in recent years though. Also shifty that they aren't allowing Nz'ers to get the rifle scababrd/strap due to some BS regulation as none were available at the time I got my pack and I javelin tried twice to buy one to no avail.

Have the Binocular harness as well and love it, just wish it had a couple of small internal pocket along the sides like the Sitka one does, handy for pocket knifes and lens pens.

Borrowed a mates Kennai jacket for a recent winter tahr hunt. Was fantastic to hunt in, even active stuff, which I usually sweat like a mofo doing I wasn't, so really breathable. Warm as and I lived in it most of the trip. Got home an purchased my own on sale a couple of months ago.

To make use of the flat rate for shipping its always worth grabbing a couple of tees and hats as well.

Anyone making stuff in Vietnam is killing it in regards to wages and production costs in poor old NZ

Between kuiu and first lite, what’s your preferences? In term of comfort, not fancy camo. ( I have sexy kuiu verde painted bow :-)

Kuiu ‘Biggest sale of the year’ on now.

I was looking for a pair of light down pants and not wanting to pay kuiu prices. There are some good lower cost options about now. Montbell do light down and synthetic options at less than half price of K.

I’ll post a picture of it tomorrow. Half the size of a stoney creek puffer.

Was stoked to get the Northridge rain jacket at 50% off -- don't think I'd ever pony up for it at full price. Have been shopping around for a good rain layer for a while.

Here is the Kennai rolled up into its hood, with a pen sitting on top to help with scale. I will compact down further if stuffed into a pocket or whatever but for its warmth and features it packs down pretty good!
