    Leather sheath care

Ok so I have a new knife sheath on the way from Hamish and two other knife sheaths I use for hunting .My question is this ,What do you guys do to maintain/care for your sheaths to keep them supple and extend their life span
Rightly or wrongly I have been tipping Olive oil into the sheaths to keep them supple and to help keep the knife rust free
What does everyone else do and what do you recommend for your sheaths Hamish

Hey bud, yours has been and as is all the other ones i make had a coat of boot dubbin, just set out in the sun or get the wifes hair dryer to get a bit of head into leather. The pores open up and take the dubbin in. You can also just sit and massage it in and the warmth in your hands will help

Do mine more in winter due to getting wet and less in summer

    Cheers

For my knife sheaths I use sno seal, it does make the sheath go a tad darker, and for a carbon blade I use renaissance wax.
