Just thought Id post it up how stoked I am with the service given to me through Lacklands and Leica.
I dropped my Geovids down a scree slip early this year. Scratched every lens and gave the armour a good scuff up. After contacting Lacklands they were shipped off to Auckland on the 18th of September. Just turned up now, less than 1 month after sending. I read somewhere Leica service was slow? Not this time.

Lackland's service has beenfirst rate for me as well
I slipped while crossing a river, had my leica RF on my belt, it was one of the original small 1000 , they had no warrenty against water damage back then and it was out of it's warrenty anyway.
I spoke with Lacklands and they gave me a brand new 1200 model for the price of the insurance on my old one.
I've posted about this before but they were so helpfull especially when they had no need to be it's worth mentioning again.

What is leicas official warranty anyway?
I have a pair of geovids that have a faulty diopter adjustment on one side, my eyes are getting worse by the day and i kinda want to adjust it but the sucker wont turn.
Just emailed them so hopefully i will get some good news.
They have diaopter adj on both sides?
fucked if i know if its actually called diopter adjustment but its that little + - adjuster thing on each eye hole thing :thumbsup:.... not the main focus wheel
A few years ago now, I bought a brand new second hand CRF1200 of TM.
After a few months of using it I found it had a bit of oily metal swarf in it on a lens from manufacture.
I took it to my local sports shop they sent it to Lacklands with a nice note, it went away to Germany & was replaced :thumbsup:
Not even sure if it was sold new by Lacklands going by the price I paid for it.

Can't you close your eye with the working one and adjust center wheel then swap eyes and adjust diaoptr like normal?Quote:

oh ok thanks for that. Dont actually have the binos on me at the moment but actually from memory it is the white side that has seized. Should this be free to move or am i doing something wrong??
I didn't think it would have two diaopters and a center wheel. It would be like two adjustments for the same thing.

Then why not adjust the center wheel until your right eye is clear?
Won't fix your diaoptr of course but may as well have the best picture on your best eye.
haha yeah its pretty clear, just guess i wanted that little bloody wheel to turn on a $3000 pair of binos. Will have a better play in a few weeks when i get my hands on them again, cheers VC and kiwijames
With that much dust and shit on them no wonder the poor things have seized. I would not force it as you will break something. Considering the turn around I found with mine I'd suggest you send them off to Lacklands for a proper service.Quote:

18th Sept my son took his Leica CRF1600 into H&F Christchurch (City branch), they wouldn't range past 250m in any conditions, but in otherwise perfect condition.
Purchased pre-roar 2011 H&F Botany Akl.
I discussed all this with the Lacklands Sales Manager at the Sika Show. The Monday morning after the Sika Show (30th Sept) I got a follow-up phone call from Lacklands saying they'd tested and faulted the RF and it'd be in Germany by the end of the week.
Son got phoned 18th Oct by H&F CHC to pick up his brand new replacement Leica CRF1600-B, latest 1600 model !!:D

So to log into their website to get prices they ask for a company name...? "Wildman's Hunting Club Inc"?
Unless things have change in the last few years Lacklands is primarily Wholesale not retail
