    leupold binos

Currently been using cascades 10x42 but considering buying a new pair of binos to take south . Left it to the last minute so don't know if i have enough time before heading away south.
I have had a good run with leupold and good service with warranty's . slow but end up with new product.

Anyhow look at the bx-2 tioga hd today for $700 but then looking at leupold they have already stop producing these only new out 2yrs ago
Then i see they have a new bino called the alpine 10x42 $580 which was similar money to what the cascades sold for so dont really know if i am upgrading much OR Also the BX-4 PRO guides 10x42 for $1249 thats is outside my money range least i found a demo pair or a second hand pair in v/g condition

any miracle answers out there or anyone upgraded from there cascades

Take the max you can afford now and put it aside. Then do the same next time your looking until you can buy something upper end. I genuinely think a budget pair so you have some are a must but then save until you can afford some alpha glass. Also I'd check on here every 10 minutes so you never miss Ryan Songhurst selling his good shit for cheap ie $1500 Swaro ELs. If you don't really use binos up north then don't bother even getting out of the budget range. They do 70% of what any high end glass will do and I definitely wouldn't buy them for a trip unless moneys not object

I was kind of in the same boat a couple of months ago looking at binos in the upto $1k mark, but brought into the save up/compromise elsewhere cool aid and got a pair of swaro slc glasses... by far and away the best decision I've made gear wise. I had to cut money from new rifle and scope budget and pull future favours from the missus but totally worth it.

@Stocky I do use my bino's a lot and my cascades have been good enough for me so far. I just wouldn't mind upgrading to some thing a little better. I will end up sending my cascade back us there arent as clear as they were.
I did look at ryans bino's but i cant afford to spend that much. Yes i would love a pair of binos like that.
I should give Ryan a list of gear i want then buy it of him cheap at a later stage

Back off mate I've already considered doing the same. What I'm saying is since you do use your binos then it is worth looking at better binoculars. The Caveat however is i think that your cascades or the Vortex Crossfires that I and a tonne of other guys started with will do 70-80% of what a Swaro, Leica etc will do. They also are perfectly adequate for almost all situations (two guys i work with in canada use BX-2s in the guiding season as they are more likely to get tipped alpha glass/they loose or break binoculars every couple of seasons and these are available at every Canadian Tire(Warehouse) store around so easy to get replaced. So based on that i think its best to use your Original binos unless there is some reason they need t o be replaced in which case they should have a lifetime warranty and save for some premium binos. The exeption being that you never plan to make it to Alpha glass in which case id wait for better value for money set of mid high end glass to come up on the forum.

Which loopy bino models have the vx5/6 hd glass? Going by the scope prices they should be good value, and that HD glass is bloody nice

I use the BX2 cascades and have done for a while now. Never felt I needed more, yes the more you spend the better quality. Don't get the tioga you will regret it, the eye cups are awful. Have a pair at work so borrowed them to see what they are like, 20mins was all I lasted. They are extremely uncomfortable on your eyes.

@300wsm for life i rang asia nz and they were real helpful. So the cascades have been replaced by the alpine, The Tioga is no longer on the market due to issue's and just not fulling the gap in the market they hope , then you get in to the bx4 pro guide which they have just dropped the price by $200 ish.
Yep i have to say my bx2 cascade have been very good and its a shame the cascades are no longer on the market.
Mine aren't is clear us they were and when i get back i will be sending them away and see what they say
