    Which Light weight puffer

After a light weight puffer for under a jacket and people’s preference.
Similar to the Stoney creek accelerant jacket, I do love Stoney creek but when you look at the stats of weight/fill/loft etc it does seem expensive compared to similar like a RAB microlite etc

Have two Spika puffers, The heavyweight one and the lighter under jacket version. Very happy with the heavy one, warm, seem pretty tough and comfortable to wear, use it for everything. Dont like the light one, doesnt breath well, particularly under a rain shell etc. I only wear it to the pub etc now

For under a jacket Macpac uber light hooded - compresses down to be small enough to fit into the pocket of my jacket, easy to whip out and get it on under the coat. On sale now $119.99

The trouble is the Macpac ones are very warm.
I thought mine was until I tried a WOE puffer.
If you check out the label on a Macpac they are filled with duck down and feather which is no where near as good as an 800 loft goose down.

Depends what OP is after. I love my Macpac Uber Light Hooded jacket, especially at the sale price. Warm enough for what I need it for. Far more comfortable under a shell jacket than my (much higher quality) goose down vest. Horses for courses. If I wanted a warmer puffer as a one-and-done jacket I'd be speaking to WOE.

Yeh I think the macpac is pretty good balance of warmth/bulk/price under a hard shell. Also have a halo vest which is warmer in the core and packs down pretty well. At some point they become pricier (higher loft) or bulkier/heavier no matter what.

If you are after high warmth for low weight then you need high quality down and that will come at a cost. I’ve got a Kuiu Super Down Pro and really like it but they ain’t cheap. Very light, packs down small, and warm. I’ve got a WOE too and it’s awesome warm but significantly heavier and bulkier. If i’m carrying my gear and living out of a pack then I take the Kuiu but if i’m around a base camp etc i’ll use the WOE.

Can't speak for the standard weight ones but I've had 3-4 made by Blair, couple hi-vis with day/night for work, a 3 layer one for if i needed to wear a puffy while bush bashing and one in the lightweight style- I'm a XL/2XL in all and the lightweight one in its stuff sack tipped the scales at 770grams, bloody nice jacket and packs down well

I have a stone glacier grummon lite or something along those lines and so far so good.
Packs super small and was super toasty ( apart from my frozen feet from 6am frozen boots)

Used it on the weekend glassing some slips with the wind smashing me and didnt feel it breeking through like i did with my macpac it replaced. ( wasn't the cheap macpac either )
