Well worth looking into them, just make sure you use the good boots when you need the ankle support

I have a pair of Merrel light weight boots I wear with Sealskin gortex socks for short forays nice light and don't hold water.

Would not use them on the tops long term I have already had a light weight boot fall apart on the tops and had to hop it.

Really getting tired of old gortex boots with insulation getting wet weighing a ton and taking a week to dry.

Also bloody cold in the snow and frost.

Still looking for the perfect boot.
