Is anyone aware of anything like the Swazi Rifleman but not cut to fit people shaped like a fridge with arms a foot long? E.g. a more athletic cut, something very simple and lightweight. I'm aware of the Stoney Creek version but the fabric isn't very waterproof.
I have a Swazi tahr ultra lite for the tops. I’m not built like a fridge but am 6 ft and size m is good. You could go to a small. I just prefer the extra length over the rifleman to sit on.

The small Rifleman is real short in the arms unfortunately
a stoney creek stow it jacket may be worth having a look at?
Kuiu chugach? Just been updated, and certainly light. Older one seems to be reasonably durable for the weight.
Better than anything mentioned would be Arcteryx but spendy. I've got a Alpha FL that's amazing. It's only 315grams and way more durable than 95% of the standard weight jackets and way more durable than options like the Stoney Creek stowit I've used as it's goretex Pro. The Alpha AR(All Round version) is even more durable and still weighs the same as the Rifleman. They are athletic cut and super nice but spendy. I got mine from the factory store in Vancouver. The SV(Severe version) is still only 510g and is absolutely bombproof. Only thing is just make sure you get one with the gore tex Pro as the other gore tex isn't near as durable or breathable.

It was his only jacket when hunting south island and his main jacket on a farm as a fencer, He did stay a little while ago the shoulders were getting a little thin from carrying out pigs.

One of the Nepali blokes that we have working here has one of these jackets and despite me buying him expensive Kaiwaka rain gear he wears it all the time because it's lighter and less bulky when he rolls it up and pops it on the carrier on his motorbike. Literally milks cows in it day in day out and wears it when it's raining on farm. I hit him up about it a while ago after a particularly wet day when he had been out working in the weather and asked if it actually keeps him 100% dry and he unzipped it and showed me he was bone dry underneath. Seems to have taken a beating pretty well and still goes good.
