Lowa Zephyr MK2
Does anyone run a pair of the above? how have you found them? I am after a new pair of lightweight boots and can get these for 35% off.
I know Lowa QC can be a bit hit and miss, but apparently they have addressed alot of the issues people were having with the first Zephyr and also the Z series.
I prefer a high boot for hunting as I hate shit getting in the top of my boot, but wondering how you are finding the mid boot.
The majority of my hunting is bush/scrub into tussock tops. Vary rarely do I venture into the alpine environment so a soft boot will suit.
I have been using a pair of the boots from Sarvo, but the waterproofing is non-existant and walking through wet grass gives me wet feet.
Cheers

They look to be new out so can't comment on them specifically. I have several pairs of Z6s and renegades both are mids. Almost always in trousers now and that's enough to keep the rubbish out otherwise id have gaiters on. They definitely don't like siding down scree, which is why I have multiple pairs now. The stitching in them all goes in the same place. Waterproofing is excellent on them until you pierce them with a needle to repair them. Both very comfortable but where they differ is weight. the Z6 is a 20kg+ boot while the renegade is a 5-10kg boot. Load your pack up and the renegade won't handle -after 10 odd km on mostly flat ground with about 40kg I had large blisters on the pads of both my feet. The Zephyr is a 15kg boot so I'd expect much better performance than the renegade. They do look like an improved lite version of the z6. I also found the propriety sole in the Z6 slippery in the wet compared with the soft vibram in the renegade.

Highly rate the z8s. Z6 are great too but the z8 seem more comfy. Very light and don’t seem to waterlogged/ weight down like the tibets, etc. Use them on most hunts unless it’s super steep where a good sharp side cutting sole is helpful.
