I recall reading something about this on here a long time ago.

you'd need to weigh a full bottle from macpac etc and fill the used one to the same weight for safety reasons.

Yes. I already refill the small 100g and 230g cylinders from the larger 450g one but was looking at a car camping cooker that uses the green bottles and wanted to fill it from a 9kg bottle. You will see the first link I put up has a pressure gage fitted.

As long as you use the same gas as original canister had in it.
I dont have expert knowledge on this but gathered from previous threads that if you run LPG in the butane appliances there's an increased chance of blowing yourself up.

I made something like that for a friend, he wanted to top up his small LPG cylinders from the larger ones. It worked but was just cumbersome to tip the whole thing upside down & back.

Did you read the one star review on your first link?, sounds underwhelming.

I use the Temu one which doesn't have gauge or tap for filling gas torch bottles from 9kg tank, one has to leave empty bottles in fridge or freezer for a few hours before filling.

No. I didn't see that, but 3 five star reviews and 1 one star?

The five star ones don’t appear reputable if you ask me.

From the cursory look earlier, the negative review was the only one from a western country.
Doesn’t pass the sniff test if you ask me, but it’s only risking $22 so maybe worth a punt.

I'm not sold on what sort I will get yet. I just thought the pressure gauge and extra shut off looked like it might be useful.

I just made a hose and fittings to go from 9kg to the smaller ones with different fittings used on little camp cookers/gas lights etc.
If you have some old shit laying around it's just a bit of hose and some hose clamps.
I freeze the empty the connect up and fill till cant hear much flow.
In the name of science I have filled frozen container to full then watched it releive via safety valve...
If you should over full just open main valve in an open clear safe area and vent till liquid stops.
I'd recommend doing the last one with any canister home filled.

If you're decanting using an upside down donor bottle, you need to crack open the purge valve on the recipient bottle to get any decent flow/fill. Remember, bottled gas is liquid. Ideally, an accurate scale to sit the recipient on is good but not essential. A mate does my small camping cylinders and it works perfectly.

I have the adaptor to run a 4kg bottle in place of the green bottles for a hot water heater. It works well.
