Can I recommend you mount it as close to the barrel as posable,on a .22 I find them frustrating when mounted on the top of the scope as the point of impact and the dot only align at one point and it help to keep the error as small as poss otherwise you can be a few inches out very quickly as your distance to target changes. More of a issue on a .22 than a centerfire.
Is it a dealextream job? Does it have the flickering dot to draw your eye or a constant?
