Thread: Magellan 610 gps

Do any of you guys have a Magellan 610?
My new 1 just arrived, looking for any tips & tricks.
To get me a quick start with it .

This GPS has a hunting ,Fishing calender on it ,not quite sure how the hunting side works yet. But the fishing appears to be bite time & yesterday when my other fishing calender was saying only a fair day the gps was saying excellent bite time is .... . OK will give it a shot ,
blowing a gale but end result was fresh snapper fillets for dinner tonight .Just got a work out the hunting side how ,why the times relate to animal activity .

Hi Chris, how are you finding your 610. I am considering getting one for hunting. Would you recommend it or should I do more research?

I do recommend it ,think its pretty good .User friendly all sort of features ,came loaded with Aus & NZ topo maps ,street nav;maping & world base map .No problem getting a satalite fix in the house which surprised me.
The guy that sold it to me use to train our SAS in navigation & visited NZ very regularly apparently.Equivalent package would of cost $900 nzd retail value .I'm pretty pleased with the deal I got worked out to $420 nzd
