In the market for a Sleeping bag

    Howdy,

So my current bag doesn’t cut the mustard and have started looking into a new bag.

I don’t do big walks so weight and compactness are not the main factors.

I’m a big guy at 6’4” and over 120kegs so need ample room in a bag. I also hate the cold so want something that will keep me toasty in those cold frosts.

Been looking so far at the Kathmandu range (pacesetter and navigator) but that would be about it.

I intend to look into the Stoney creek bags also but are there any other suggestions for a warm bag with good wriggle room?

    Cheers fellas.

I'm 6'8 and about 120ish kgs and the Domex Halo in long size is what I have on layby currently, light weight, compact and good lower temp range I think minus 10 comfort rating from memory

I highly recommend the Rab mythic, it may be a bit short for tho as it only goes to 183cm in length. I’ve had a 6”4 guy in mine it was snug but he was happy with the fit, failing that Rab has other bags you may like.

@HB. I just brought a domex halo and will be able to tell you what i think of it in couple weeks time after been down south. I looked at stoney creek but they are over priced.

I've also been looking at the domex superlite, but hard to find reviews on it. How do you rate it? Warm enough?

I'm the same height, have an older Stoney Creek bag. It's good, but I'd probably look to Rab if I was going to replace.

I did Out Bound 21 days in August 8 yrs ago and we had some decent frosts under a fly and I never got cold in the school's Kathmandu Anakiwa sleeping bag. Also had a night with too many of us under a common fly so I slept only partly under a fly when it rained. Bottom half got soaked and I stayed warm. Wrung water out it when packing up! Bargain at $239. Bulky though. https://www.kathmandu.co.nz/xt-anaki...eping-bag.html
