How big do you want it to be? I did this once for the Kaimais. Used my mapping software skills to create a custom shape/size map at the correct 1:50000 scale and took it to a local printer. Cost me $30 or so, from memory. Such a map for the Ruahines (120km from Manawatu Gorge to Kuripapango) would be 2.4m long.

The Mrs got a world map wallpaper made 2.4mx3m for her office that cost us 4hundy a few years ago. Was only 2 rolls, 1.5m wide. The company could use any picture but once its on the wall that's it.
Nothing is tough about having a 70 lb bow and looking like an uncoordinated praying mantis while trying to draw it back.

We always had massive maps on the wall of the hangers for the pilots to reference. These were typically made up from the standard NZ Top Maps joined together and glued to a backing board. I've been meaning to do the same here to a blank wall I have... a bit of wallpaper glue and away you go. Can't be that difficult, surely?
