    Mid-size pack?

Anyone used the Arete system from Hunters Element? Seems like a clever system but wary of gimmicky crap.
Any other good recommendations? Looking for a 1 or 2 night pack around 40-60L, not for huge missions

The Osprey Kestrel 48 goes pretty hard - the frame carries decent weight and they're a little more rugged than other Osprey packs with more complicated harnesses.

I've got an Osprey Talon 44 which is a little sleeker and lighter, but definitely doesn't feel as robust.

I have a Macpac Serac 50L that I like, but has probably become redundant in my current line-up and could be looking for a new home.

Size 3. Nice strong canvas without being too heavy. (About 1.7kg). Simple, definitely not gimmicky.

Can sort some photos in a couple days if you have any interest.

Have a look at the spiker range I have been using there 40l pack & load carrying frame for a few years now & I'm not going away from that set up. When I bought mine there was only the spiker & the expensive use ones around so couldn't try on in shop to see witch frame would fit my body so if I had to buy again I would try all frames in & the same price bracket with weight to see what fits the body best. What I really like about it is when fly camping I can put all my gear in the 40l pack & as long as It fits in the pack on the way in it fit in the way out when you're loaded with meat. When I have been meat harvesting on farms & had to shoot fallow on the bottom sid off the track just head down the hill with frame sit hole deer in meat shelf & it's so comfortable to carry out & no blood all down your back. To start with it probably is a bit off pissing round getting used to using the load shelf especially when darks coming but after done it a few times it's quick & easy I also think spiker have brought out a new model that makes it easier now

If you have the coin and wait for a sale the Kuiu packs are brilliant. Same system as the arete packs with one frame and interchangeable packs. Love mine.

I like the look of that pack. As per my recent thread, carrying weight on the hips is all important.
