So after extensive research and trying on various brands in shops, I finally took the plunge and got a pair of Irish Setter high leg Elk Trackers.
I chose these because I wanted a boot that was leather and resolvable and offered a degree of waterproofness (goretex lining, full to gue gusset) with a good grippy sole and plenty of ankle support. I was veering towards a couple diff pairs of Lowa's but being able to get the setters resoled tipped the balance. Took them out for a spin this evening, nothing fancy just a bush walk that includes all the terrain types I'll be out and about on (mud, wet grass, shale, creeks and slippery rocks etc) first impressions are good. Glove like out the box, not overly stiff, solid lacing, will be out for a day hunt in the next week or two so will see what they're really like then. Anyway, just thought I'd share as an option that might suit some
