Okay I'll start saving for a jet boil haha. Seems like an awesome piece of kit! I'm gonna cheap out on jacket... Just gonna wear a nice warm jumper and then a small thin waterproof rain jacket over the top of it starts raining, will that combo work? It'll just be WAY cheaper than to buy a proper warm waterproof jacket for me at the moment.
By law, you are required to turn on your headlights if it's raining in Sweden.

How the hell am I supposed to know if it's raining in Sweden?

Dammit well I cannot spend over $200 on a sleeping bag. Its impossible for me at this time. Otherwise I'll have to start sacrificing other important pieces of kit

I paid $350 here for a decent quality bag. Second hand.
Take your time mate, I used to use my school jacket for years and mate, as long as your warm enough you'll live for ages with just water until someone finds ya and warms ya up.
Or buy a white dog, she or he looks pretty hot.

What's the other pieces of kit you're taking about?

I actually managed to score a really good shell jacket from Sierratradingpost for $30. Super light and fully waterproof.

Good bag makes a world of difference, and a shit sleep makes for a crap days hunting. Cold, unmotivated, tired leads to stumbling and lapses in judgement.

Basically everything apart from a scope and a rifle mate, need to get a day pack, sleeping Mat, tent or fly (which one do u recommend btw), plb, jet boil, good pair of boots, pants, etc etc.. Buying a sleeping bag for something like $400 will remove a couple of those things from the list student problems..

I've always been a tent person personally.
Things like jet boil you can easily get away with a small gas cooker and something like the little Stanley steel cup set.

Another reasonable option for a pack is the macpac Ascent. Has an extendible lid that can be removed and used as a day bag. Also has a small thin sleeping mat in it for padding that can be used to augment your other mat, means you can go lighter on warmth rating. Check out second hand or sales. I bought mine from on here.

Sleeping bags like everything are a trade off. Down generally packs smaller and is lighter for the same warmth as synthetic. Normally down has near zero warmth if it gets wet (you can get some treated down bags that are meant to be better), synthetic you can wring it out and it will give you some warmth.

I don't own a flash hunting jacket. I prefer to be able to layer up and put on a waterproof jacket. Gives more options.

Don't be in too much of a hurry to get everything, wait for the sales. Sale prices are often the same as second hand with macpac.

Certainly looks nice and light, I have a hubba old and heavyweight but good. Yeh I'd say you wouldn't go wrong with that tent but I'm no tent expert at all - @Spanners has one on here also for $200 is it?

Yea idk that tent is some Chinese brand I think, never heard of it. Definitely would rather pay an extra $100 for the vaude.
