Old hunting items from days gone

Hi all I’m new to the forum I’m a young 24 year old fellow hunter/outdoors fanatic, with a very very keen interest in the NZFS history and old school hunting stuff. I’m a passionate collector of old NZFS memorabilia and old hunting gear and ammo packets/Cartridges, I thought I’d post a few photos up of a couple of the items in my collection and was wondering if anyone had any NZFS/ old ammo packets or cartridges they would be willing to part with I am especially keen on things like old NZFS signs and CAC items. And would also be keen to see what everyone else collects and is interested in cheers!

First pic is a CAC .308 round that was made for alpine helicopters culling operations.

This may be of interest. Forest Service Cookbook. It's been posted on the forum before. Others may know, was it issued at the NZFS training camps?

    What a great read….

I did have a little chuckle about the “licence” mention under trout recipes.

My Grandfathers favourite was either a “bakers glory” or a nickel spinner

The meaning of Nickel spinner may be lost on a lot of members.
Caught a few that way in my younger days. You just had to concuss them, not hit them.

That was a great read, keen to try some of those recipes out. Sheppards pie with rice instead of mashed potatoe is an interesting twist.
I'll keep my eye out for an actual booklet

I had the pleasure of working for the firm with nothing but happy memories and a stash of perks,so I'll be hanging onto them.Great to see younger jokers taking an interest in FS.But one item I wish I had kept is ' The Terms & Conditions' a notorious antiquated contract that hunters signed at the outset.Barry would remember the document.Modern Employment law students probably study this contract @ Uni as the most draconian one way piece of union award ever drafted in NZ.Priceless.Well worth tracking down a copy- they used to lay around the bases

rice paddy rice sure helps disguise rice of the mechanical type ....often a good idea out in the boonies
