Bloody auto correct....woollen singlet,not wooden..
try a shearing gang....they will know for sure as plenty of guys (and big boobied rousies)still wear them!!!!
ha wooden singlet.... was thinking jeez i bet your breakfast cereal doesnt go "snap crackle pop" ....... bet it goes "shhh here he comes!"
Thought Farmalnds still had them they are the "MKM" Original Brand
I use the lighter wollen MKM now - but I think last time I looked there they had the heavy ones too
did quick google search...(trademe came up blank) farmlands site has them $42 ......
Wooden - some truth in that Re these singlets
The shearers singlets almost turned to wood after a while as the hair (not wool) from the sheeps hooks would impregnate into the siglet and not wash out and after time the singlet would get that chocked and thick with the hair it would almost stand up by self
Also RD1 will get them for you. I also recently bought two merino short sleeved from the wool company pt way sth of taihape towards Palmy. Light and very warm.
Try the guys in Otorahonga, Hasdads? Some one will know?
thinks thats where we used to buy our hobnail boots from.....
Talk to Farmlands about MKM knitwear.
Awesome kit
I’m wearing icebreaker merino ones, very warm and light but not super durable I suspect.
I have a UNION brand one bought some time ago from Farmlands . Regrefully they no longer stock them and cant locate them anywhere.
This looks the best available.

That looks like what I’m after te rei.thanks for the link.
Got a couple of the lightweight merino shearer’s tops from farmlands, nice and light and comfortable to wear, good and long length ,tried the heavier weight ones but felt too scratchy for my liking, also got a possum/merino beanie ,bloody warm and super light.
I heard through a reliable source that the words WOOD and WOOL were still synonymous up in the Canterbury high country - and in parts of Wyoming !
