That garden is interesting.
I was thinking I'll get the traditional and modify the tip to give it a small drop point.

Do they have, like a shim or any thing between the blade and wood? To take the wear?

Honestly bro, you should stop asking the questions, because you will get 100 different opinions. At $30 ish ,Just buy one, try it for yourself. And report to us if you like it or not. If you don’t quite like it , give it to your nephew, if you hate it , sell it to your enemy. If you can’t spare the $30, remember that anything else will probably be more expensive.

Yet to hear anything bad about the Opinel and price is right. Soo, just ordered two No 08s in SS.

I'll grind the tip down a tad to make it more like a drop point.

One for me and one for one of my grandsons who is just waiting for his Licence to arrive in the mail.

I've got an opinel in my emergency kit, one both cars, 2 in draws in the house, one in my laptop bag and one in my pocket.
Apart from that I don't really use them

The opinel locks.
You just do in manually by rotating the SS ring. Can lock it open or closed.

That brings back memories. Was that on this forum or the old HnF. I went and bought a Bacho at the height of that thread. Didn't need one but in the end HAD to have one.

sounds like a challenge LOL.... but then folks would debate the merits of locking systems!!!! PERSONALLY I am more than happy with Svord swinging style..buggered if can see how folks get into trouble using them.

Mickey, I cut myself badly with a folder once, trying to push newspaper into the window rubber, in a ships crane to block out the sun. Had to radio up and let them know I was climbing down for the day. My buddy went up for the last stint, and he reckoned it looked like a murder scene!
I had to get down quickly, I wasnt sure how much claret would come out before I fainted.

the last time I cut myself..was trying to pry lid off a slicker pad to add more water...stupid bloody thing to do and it went bad and caused grief for months afterwards.

I have a No8 SS I inherited from my late Grandfather, its stored away safe. I bought a No10 carbon, good knife, blades a bit stiff to open at the moment. I'd like a No12 in SS.
