    Pack for Wapiti Ballot

Looking for a bigger pack for the 10 day mission, would 90L-100L be the ideal size or could you go 80L. Any one had experience with the 100L Osprey? Any pack recommendations?

    Thanks Team

@Samsamdjt have mostly settled on the following, I've put all this stuff together and weighed it and I'm at around 16kg for base back weight and the food ends up around 9kg so at about 24kg all up plus my rifle and what I'm wearing. There's a few "luxuries' in there ie the starlink and Helinox chair zero, and also with food my sister and I (who I'm going in with) have decided we have to make a "treat" for both of us at least two days so I'm going to do pancakes with maple syrup and jam, and she does mean popcorn with butter in her jetboil. I'm tossing up if I should throw a couple of beers in there...

That's one of the reao benefits of a well designed pack that can compress right down with a dedicated meat shelf like an Exo. You can pack all your equipment in the main bag and pack your food in a dry bag on the meat shelf.

I've done two with macpac torre 80 litre. Heaps of room spare mates had 70 litres and was ok first couple days they were pretty full but gets better. The trick is to take less gear. Lots of little things add up

Expandable to 160L! And twice as tall as the shoulder straps. When would you need that much space? Not to mention the weight you could load into it.

Try carrying a caped out bull plus 7 days of gear in a 60l pack

There are multiple pack options, 7900 is the biggest and not suited to the average joe, however it suits for my guided hunts perfectly

I just explained... you quoted me on my exact reasoning for needing a pack that can accommodate

The first pic on their website makes it look humongous.

I thought you were on a day hunt. Do you used the load shelf for meat and capes or is it easier to put it inside the pack?

Definitely too much pack for me. I like the look of their Solo, and that even expands to 100L.

    Stone glacier 6900 or 7900

Big packs but very light, utilise the space you need.
