I’ve Got a load shelf pack and trying to not have to wash it after each carry out.
Currently I’m putting meat into pillow cases or meat bags and then into a woven fert bag which fits on the shelf well. The Fert bag keeps the load in nice and close and under control but does leak blood.
Any more advanced solutions out there other than heavy grade plastic bags?

Can get some freezer bags, they're heavy duty plastic. I got sole off a mate who works at a freezer works. Rubbish sacks seems to split or pop. Laying meat out to cool seems to get some of the blood out before packing it up but not all. Maybe try a rubbish sack over the pillow case and then inside another fabric bag to hold it firm so it doesn't split or pop
Buy a big dry bag from one of the "budget" outfits like Kathmandu or Torpedo 7 etc. Doesnt have to be one of the heavier vinyl type, they also come in lighter weight fabric like coated nylon. I have one that is slightly bigger tham my big Macpac pack, and its lasted for years. When you get home turn it inside out and throw it in the washing machine on a cold cycle for a few minutes and hang out to dry.
As mentioned by Husky you can’t go past dry bags. I have two or three that I rotate across my packs, not just the packs with meat shelves.
When I get home I usually rinse the dry bag out in the shower.
Key is to cool down the meat as much as you can before you bag it up.
Yeah, and wash out your bag with cold water and detergent, give a light scrub, then sit in a touch of bleach to sterilize it. Hot water will cause proteins to coagulate, and will most likely leave a stain. If I need to wash my load-shelf pack, separate the frame from the body, and remove it if you can. I carry some laundry liquid in a small sealed container in the back of the truck. 30 minutes in cold wash at the Tokoroa Laundramat, gives you enough time for a large chicken kebab at Kebab Master next door. Clean gear, job done.

you can also leave the top open so it can breath just be careful the bag dosnt fill with crap or your meat fall out. i have also sat it in a creek to cool down the meat and it didn't fill with water.
The other trick is that I take the meat out of the dry bags as soon as I get back to my Ute. I’ve trained the dog to not touch them!
