    Keep in mind that you can hire a plb for not much coin, if you are not in a position to buy one right now.
    Local SAR group up here have bought a few for the purpose of, as it makes life easier for all concerned. The gps function takes all the guess work out to the point where you could say that it takes the "search " out of sar.
