Could glue a thin pice of leather over the rivet to keep the handle safe? If you ramp/skive both ends the knife shouldn't catch or cause hangups

I heat a piece of conduit pipe up and flatten it around blade then put this inside my leather sheaths so knife CANNOT cut its way out or cut my legs AGAIN... little bit fiddly to ensure blade goes down into it when putting back in sheath, but peace of mind is worth it.
